The New Frontier

Well everyone here I am in Alaska!

I landed in Anchorage a few hours ago and I'm relaxing at my hotel room.  I didn't get to eat lunch or dinner today so I ordered food and inhaled, literally inhaled it!  It's 9:15pm and still very light outside which is going to be hard to get used it.  I'm tired but the light is really screwing with me.  I'm going to take a walk down to the water in a bit and take some photos which I'll post.  I head to Denali tomorrow on a bus with other employees, I'm getting really excited to meet new people and get this summer underway.

I met an interesting guy on the plane from Seattle to Anchorage.  He's also a summer worker but for a different company.  It got me really excited to get on with this adventure at a time when I was really nervous so that was nice.

On My way!

Hi everyone!

Well I'm sitting on the plane in SF waiting to take off. The last two weeks have been completely nutty. I'm looking forward to just getting to Denali and unpacking.I'm spending the night in Anchorage tonight and hoping to have enough energy to get out and explore.

This week I'll have all my contact information figured out and will post it here. Hope you are all well.

Welcome!

Hi Everyone!

First of all welcome to my blog!  As many of you know I've taken a summer position at a hotel outside of Denali National Park for the summer.  This is a once in a lifetime experience for me so I wanted to remember it and share with you all.  I'll be posting here hopefully a few times a week about what I'm doing and life in Alaska!  I've added a slideshow on the upper left hand corner of my flickr page photos.  If you click on the slideshow it will take you directly to my flickr page where you can see more of my photos. Please leave me comments also!

I leave for Alaska on Sunday May 18th and will be back in early September.  I am renting a P.O. box which I'll post the address to when I get there *hint* send goodies *hint* My cell phone will be working up there as well but I don't know how strong the signal will be until I get there.

I'm really excited about this new adventure and hope you all enjoy it with me!
